{"id":11252,"date":"2019-10-30T14:15:11","date_gmt":"2019-10-30T13:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunal-stb.de\/solidarity-surcharge-partial-abolition-of-the-solidarity-surcharge-planned-as-of-2021\/"},"modified":"2023-07-21T09:36:31","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T07:36:31","slug":"solidarity-surcharge-partial-abolition-of-the-solidarity-surcharge-planned-as-of-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunal-stb.de\/en\/solidarity-surcharge-partial-abolition-of-the-solidarity-surcharge-planned-as-of-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Solidarity surcharge &#8211; partial abolition of the solidarity surcharge planned as of 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_large\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2>Solidarity surcharge from 2021, partial abolition planned.<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bundesregierung.de\/breg-de\/suche\/merkel-bei-steuerzahlerbund-1669554\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">German government<\/a> has presented a bill for the partial abolition of the solidarity surcharge.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, from <strong>2021<\/strong>, the limit up to which no solidarity surcharge is levied is to be raised to a taxable income of 61,716 euros (spouse: 123,432 euros); this corresponds to an income tax amount of 16,956 euros (spouse: 33,912 euros).<br \/>\nThis means that 90% of all wage and income tax payers will no longer have to pay the solidarity surcharge.<\/p>\n<p>After exceeding the above-mentioned limit, a so-called &#8220;mitigation zone&#8221; follows (similar to before), which reaches up to a taxable income of 96,409 euros (spouse: 192,818 euros).<\/p>\n<p>The solidarity surcharge on capital gains tax (final withholding tax) is to remain unchanged. This can then be refunded as part of the income tax assessment.<\/p>\n<p>The solidarity surcharge on the flat-rate wage tax and on corporate income tax is to remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>Whether and when the solidarity surcharge will be completely abolished is still completely unclear; we will have to wait and see how things develop.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Solidarity surcharge from 2021, partial abolition planned.
